Spring Photos in Portland, Oregon

I drove past this gorgeous Magnolia tree (or is it a Tulip Tree? Or is it both?) in Portland, Oregon last year and had a vision of taking beautiful spring photos there. But I didn’t make it happen before the flowers were all on the ground. This year I was ready! Every time I’d drive past that spot last month, I’d check to see if it was blooming yet, and finally it did! I had to wait for a sunny evening, which were few and far between at the beginning of April, and I grabbed my sweet daughter and got some lovely spring photos of her.

Chloe is about to be 9 years old, and she has a lot of ideas about how she should dress. I convinced her to wear this gorgeous Joyfolie dress (which is available to borrow in my client closet), and then she added the accessories she wanted. She recently got new glasses that she looks super adorable in, so we got a couple shots of her wearing those at the beginning. This place looks like a spring wonderland!

I love when her goofy personality comes out!

The “Favorite Blanket”

She wanted to bring her “favorite blanket” with us and was surprised when I told her okay. I thought we needed some cuddly pictures with it before it falls apart, because this thing is dying. She sleeps with it every night and it’s tattered. But she loves it so much and you can really tell in these photos!

I had to get one of her wrapped up in it with her thumb in her mouth because this is SO her.

She looks extremely cool here, don’t you think? Her hair is just awesome, even though it takes way too much effort to keep it brushed. Curly hair problems.

Pullback

And lastly, here’s a pullback of what the spot looked like. It was literally on the side of the road, with a convenience store (Plaid Pantry) just behind me. Random but so pretty!
