My Family Vacation to the Oregon Coast
Exploring the Oregon Coast
This past weekend we went on a family camping trip to the Oregon coast. We decided to stay at Barview Jetty Campground, which we haven’t done for about 3 years, so it was fun to go back.
The first night my husband and my air mattress decided it didn’t want to hold air anymore, so my poor husband got up every 2 hours to add more air. Luckily there was a Fred Meyer just a short drive away, so the next morning we all went to get cots (no more leaky mattresses, please!) and mattress pads. On our way I spotted an awesome cave rock thing, so we stopped on our way back to the campground to explore. We had to walk along the side of train tracks and climb down a bunch of rocks to get there, but it was so worth it! Luckily we went at low tide, otherwise we wouldn’t have been able to get to the cave without getting drenched.
Girl dresses herself. Fabulous, yes?
He got cold so I gave him my hoodie.
Climbing back up
That afternoon we went down to the beach at the campground to check it out. It was a little cold, though, so we didn’t stay long, but my son was playing in the water with a coat on so… that was interesting. Also notice that my daughter is in her PJs. Camping life.
Playing at Nedonna Beach
That night I had a beautiful photo session at Nedonna Beach, and there were so many cool pieces of driftwood. SO MANY. So we decided to take the kids back there the next day to explore. There were multiple hideouts made from the driftwood, it was super fun for the kids.
See this?? It’s so fun!
Soaking up the sun
Another super awesome hideout. My kids are crawling on the sand because it’s warm, and also searching for shells 😉
This one shows the crazy amount of driftwood. Love it.
The Last Night
On our last night camping, we went down to the beach at the campground and watched the sun go down. Almost. It was super windy and the kids got cold so we didn’t quite make it till the sun went down… oh well. It was still pretty 🙂
Obviously the cold wasn’t a deterrent to this kid! Still playing in the waves when it’s freezing out. 😉
The last morning we just packed up early and went home so I don’t have photos from that day but I hope you enjoyed this little glimpse of my family vacation!
I used a few of these photos and made a collage
