My Top Favorite Romance Novels Ever
My Favorite Romance Novels List
I’m not afraid to admit that I love romance novels. If someone recommends a book to me and there’s no romance in it… meh. I probably won’t read it, honestly. Why am I such a sucker for romance? It gives me all the feels! And it’s a wonderful escape. I love getting lost in a really great romance novel. Chick lit is another genre I really love… as long as it has some romance in there, of course. So here’s my list of my absolute favorite romance novels I’ve ever read! This list is in no particular order and was hard to narrow down!
I won’t tell you what these are all about here, because you can easily click the links to read their plot (all the links take you to Goodreads), but I will tell you why I love them so much.
Can You Keep a Secret by Sophie Kinsella
I LOVE Sophie Kinsella’s writing, and the book that got me so into her was this one. I’ve read it at least 3 times, which is rare for me. I usually won’t read a book more than once. This book is hilarious, and you will laugh out loud while reading it, so maybe don’t read it in public unless you want to look like a weirdo.
The Hating Game by Sally Thorne
This writers voice is unlike any other book I’ve read and it kept me enthralled the entire time. I was super hooked and didn’t want to stop reading, and then when I had to stop, I just was thinking about the book all day long. It was super funny and also full of love. I felt like I could see the love coming off the pages, in a super authentic and non-cheesy way. I’m not sure if that makes sense. Just read this book, alright? Thanks.
Work Song by Danielle Allen
This author is such an amazing find! This was my second book I’ve read by her, and it doesn’t disappoint. The main characters are so real, you fall in love with them instantly. Tatiana is such a strong, intelligent, kick-ass woman. I love that she is comfortable with her body and if anyone puts her down, she doesn’t allow them to make her feel bad about herself. She knows she’s awesome. She laughs at the people who don’t recognize that, that’s how confident she is. She’s the perfect lead, as are all the leads that this author creates.
His Frozen Heart by Nancy Straight
This story will captivate you from the start and keep you on the edge of your seat. I love romantic suspense and this book has it! This is the first in a trilogy and all the books in it are really gripping and unique.
A Girl Like You by Gemma Burgess
I loved it. I absolutely loved it! This is a true “friends becoming more” book. You get to see the way they meet and fall into being friends, and then later, more. They are hilarious together. I do think the author could have used the word fucknuckle a bit more sparingly, though????. But aside from that, amazingly good book that I had a really tough time putting down!!
My Skylar by Penelope Ward
I read this quite a while back, but I remember crying a lot. Haha. I don’t think I’ve ever read a book that made me cry so much! The characters were written in a way that you really connect with them and their story. Beautifully written and very deserving of being on this list.
Wallbanger by Alice Clayton
I realize the title of this book sounds ridiculous but I assure you this book is super good and super hilarious. You will laugh a lot, and stay up all night to keep reading so let this be a warning. Start this on a weekend morning when you have nothing to do all day because you won’t want to put it down.
Rachel’s Holiday by Marian Keyes
This book is SO awesome. It’s unlike anything you will ever read. You really connect with Rachel and feel like you are in her head. It’s a roller coaster of emotions and you’ll enjoy every bit of it. I’ve read this twice! Her inner thoughts are hilarious while she’s in a serious situation. At first glance, this isn’t a book I think I’d normally pick up but I’m so glad I did!
Blurred Lines by Lauren Layne
I think I’ve read every one of her books and I have yet to find one I didn’t like. So pick any of her books and you won’t be sorry. I read this book in one day, that’s how good it was. Friends becoming more is one of my favorite story lines, and this book is one of the best I’ve read! The characters are really lovable. Highly recommend.
There! That wasn’t too long of a list, now was it? I could have gone on and on but I figured I’d keep the list short so you don’t go broke buying all my favorite romance novels. 😉
Let me know in the comments if you’ve read any of these and feel free to add your favorites, too!
