I met this family of five out in Oregon City by the river on a warm summer evening for some fun family photos. I love locations like this because there’s lots of things for the kids to do. They loved throwing rocks into the river, skipping down paths, and finding duck feathers on the ground. This way our time together feels more like a fun family outing rather than a boring photo shoot where everyone just smiles at the camera for an hour. Yes, your end goal is to have beautiful photos together, but I believe that a fun experience is just as important. The memories you create during your session will be remembered every time you look at your photos displayed in your home so let’s make sure they’re good ones!

This family and I worked together to style them beautifully. Almost all the outfits were from my client closet, so that made it really easy on them. I steamed all the clothing and brought them to the session! Having less to do on the day of your photo shoot is a great way to reduce the stress of getting everyone ready and to the location in time.
