Maternity Photography in Portland
You may want a fun and easygoing maternity session full of laughter and genuine smiles, one that makes you feel beautiful, to document this time with your family here in Portland, or all of the above. Whatever the case, I’d love to be the photographer to plan it with you! This is the last time your family is going to be how it is now and you have that beautiful glow that should be captured in photos to look back on. You’ll only get this opportunity once with each child so let's make it count!

When should I book a maternity session?
There is a short window during your pregnancy that is best for maternity photos, typically between 28-36 weeks. The best time is different for everyone. You want to have a large enough bump, but you also don't want to wait too long and feel uncomfortable. If you're a first time mom, then you will most likely be showing slower so you can probably book towards the end of that window. If this isn't your first pregnancy, you usually will show a lot sooner so you can book a little bit earlier. But that's not always the case so pay attention to your body and when you think will be the best time for you. For more information, I wrote an entire blog post on when to book your maternity photos.
What should you wear for maternity pictures?
I have a client closet full of dresses that you are welcome to borrow, as well as clothing for kids. But if you'd rather get your own clothing, I wrote a blog post going into detail about what you should wear for your maternity session, what looks best in photos, where to shop, and some really helpful tips.

"I’m so beyond in love with the beautiful images Becca Jean Photography shot of our little fam! She is so fun and easy to work with. She was so engaging with [our son] and her directions were minimal, and easy to follow. We basically just got to be ourselves, laugh and play and she told me multiple times that I was beautiful, helping me feel at ease in front of the camera. What’s not to love?!" -Jade C.
