There’s no one perfect time to visit the Oregon Coast. Every season has its own unique charms and attractions that are worth experiencing. However, if you’re looking to make your decision a bit easier, then read on to find out which season is best for you.
Springtime is a great time to visit the Oregon Coast
Springtime is definitely one of my favorite times to visit the Oregon Coast. The weather is typically mild and pleasant, and there are plenty of fun events happening. From bike festivals, sandcastle competitions, to seafood celebrations, you’ll find something to enjoy no matter what your interests are. Plus, the beaches are gorgeous this time of year, and the crowds are usually pretty light. I’ve had great luck with the weather in the spring, sometimes even enjoying 70-degree days! And if it does rain, throw on a waterproof jacket and have fun anyway!
Summer is the busiest time of year on the Oregon Coast
Summer is peak season on the coast, so expect large crowds and high prices. However, the weather is usually nice and there are lots of outdoor activities to enjoy and fun events to attend.

The beaches are quiet and peaceful, and the colors of the leaves are simply stunning. Just the drive from Portland out to Cannon Beach is worth it to see all the color on the leaves! There are also lots of fun events happening this time of year, like the Halloween Carnival and Thanksgiving Parade in Seaside.

The weather can be a bit chilly, but it’s nothing a cozy sweater or raincoat can’t fix. There are fun events like the Holiday Lights at Shore Acres and whale watching is great in the winter!
