Sunset Mommy and Me Session in Portland Oregon

For Maxine’s mommy and me session, we ventured out to a beautiful park in Portland around sunset and it was a photographer’s dream! Usually, this field is cut, but we got lucky and it was super overgrown and even luckier… there were random flowers all over and the sky was full of wispy clouds. 

The dresses the girls are wearing were selected from my client closet, which I brought freshly steamed and ready to dance in. I love doing this for families, it’s one less thing they have to do to prepare. I even bring a pop-up changing tent! Maxine’s brown dress is from Dress & Muse but is sold out, and her daughter’s dress is from Joyfolie.

I had them play together a lot, dance, tell jokes, and cuddle. Her son was also super into collecting flowers and giving them to his mom and sister, it was so sweet!

And this is when he starts flower collecting. He was looking for the best ones, of course.

Moms playing with their daughter’s hair brings me back to my childhood when my mom used to play with mine. I loved it!

Joking around with kids and getting them to laugh out loud produces adorable photos like the one above. Her giggle face is adorable

Dance parties are my favorite, and it’s even better when families get into it! They get to pick the music, so that helps 😉
