Our 2017 Eclipse Adventure in Portland Oregon

For the eclipse, we had a really hard time deciding if we wanted to chance traffic to see totality, or just stay home and get 99.4% totality. In the end, we decided to just climb to the top of Powell butte because it didn’t require any driving. From up there, we could see the dusk-like color all around, and it was very pretty! Even though we missed out on totality, it was still a really fun day. And hiking up to the top of Powell Butte made the day feel like an adventure, so the kids really loved it.
